As the owner of this club, it goes without saying that I should be the biggest customer of the club. And I am proud to say that I am. There is virtually no category on this site that I don’t buy from.
I wanted to share with you all some of my favourite things that I buy on a monthly basis. This post is all about our favourite breakfasts.
BREAKFAST:
My boys and I LOVE eating eggs in the morning. I prefer the eggs from Redbarn but many of you also really enjoy the eggs from I Like Eggs and from Eikelaan (which can be ordered by email with the organic veg).
We eat eggs in many different ways. Boiled, fried, omlette, scrambled, you name it.
I will regularly have a boiled or fried egg on a piece of buttered sourdough toast from The Real Bread Company. All their bread is made with sourdough starter. My eldest loves a good cheesy omlette. The more cheese the better. I have to make sure I always have a couple of blocks of young cheddar on hand.
Sometimes my youngest has a bowl of organic quick oats. Just pour some boiling water over or pop in the microwave for a few mins. A tsp of raw honey and a splash of milk and he is licking his lips.
If I get tired of eggs or if I don’t have the extra few mins I need to make them, I’ll wolf down a bowl of homemade wheat-free, sugar-free granola with a splash of delicious creamy raw milk.
I LOVE my morning cup of coffee. Two years ago I bought myself a mocha pot. So I make a double espresso every morning. I personally love the flavour of coffee from central Africa. My favourites are Ethiopian and Rwandan espresso from Bean There. I top it up with some warmed raw milk from The Farmers Dairy and I’m good to go for the day.
My boys also love having smoothies for breakfast. This is my chance to hide some kefir in their diet. Its a bit too sour for them to drink on its own. Apparently kefir has 30 x more strains of probiotics than yoghurt does. Its SO GOOD for you! We get kefir from Milkwood and Mysthill.
For those of you who love yoghurt with your breakfast, we have a few yoghurt suppliers. The yoghurt from each of the suppliers is quite different and each have their fans. Milkwood yoghurt is made with raw milk and is double strained to make “greek-style” yoghurt. Its very thick and very creamy. Mysthill yoghurt is also made with raw milk but has not been strained. So its a bit more “sloppy”. We’ve just added a new yoghurt supplier – The Farmers Dairy. They have a variety of flavours.
Next up – our lunch favorites!
